Administration Joomla! 4.x • Server error 500 running PHP script

Received the "Sorry, there was a problem we could not recover from" server 500 error. Following the instructions to help resolve this, turned on debug site and received this analysis:

Attempted to call an undefined method named "getCryptedPassword" of class "Joomla\CMS\User\UserHelper".

Here is the line in the script:
$crypt = JUserHelper::getCryptedPassword(strtolower(substr($data[2], 0, 1)) . strtolower($data[4]), $salt);

The site was recently upgraded to J4 from J3. This script ran in J3. I'm looking for help to update the script to work in J4.
